Books people do something with.
Hoot Hatch publishes in three lines — party games, fact books, and puzzles and mysteries. Titles are developed, designed and typeset in-house, then printed and sold through retail channels; where a book makes a factual claim, it carries the source that claim came from.
What we publish
Three lines
Each line has its own readership and its own standard of proof. They share a house rule: a book should give the reader something to do with it.
Facts with the reason attached
Non-fiction for readers who want to know why something is true, not just that it is. Every claim is traced to a published source, and the sources are printed with the book.

Imprints
Who publishes what
Hoot Hatch is the publishing name we use for all our books. Behind it are two small companies, one in Finland and one in Ireland; which one publishes which book is listed on the company information page.
Individual books also carry their own imprints — Tamada Press among them — which appear on the copyright page and in retail metadata. An imprint marks the shelf a book belongs to.

About Hoot Hatch
Hoot Hatch is a small independent publisher. We work on books meant to be used rather than only read: a game a room can start playing at once, a fact you can check, a puzzle you can solve before the answer page.
Books are developed in-house — written, designed and typeset — and printed and distributed through retail channels. We publish a small number of titles a year and keep them in print.
The standard we hold the fact books to is stated on the book itself: every entry names the published work it came from, and the full list is available to the reader. The list for Astonishing Curiosities is the current example.
